Stereo Install
09/01/2022
Got all my items in from Crutchfield so it was time to upgrade the stereo. Spent the night soldering and heat shrinking the new wiring harness and the next day I removed the trim and took out the factory radio/amp. Using the factory brackets (with a little modification) I mounted the new head unit. While all the trim was off I took the time to replace the AC control lights with the new LEDs.
Unfortunately, the trim bezel didn't fit with the larger head unit and required some modification. On the back side of the trim I used the Dremel to sand down the thicker supports so the trim would fit flush on the head unit... which I didn't get pictures of because it was 100 degrees and I was covered in sanded plastic.
Once the trim was back on I pulled up the carpet and ran the wires for the subwoofer to the final location, under the driver seat. Installed the power distribution block, since I plan to install a lot more items and don't want them all to my battery, and powered it all up for testing. Finally get to have Bluetooth again.
Got a busy weekend planned. I want to get the back up camera installed, new lift gate struts, try to paint the wheels, and taking a trip to the junk yard to look at a 98 T4R for a possible bumper swap.
