Grille Upgrade
01/29/2023
I got home today to another package from SRQ Fabrications, this one containing my new grille. Install was fairly quick and only took me about an hour with minimal modification.
Taking the old grill out was challenging as the original clips were brittle and kept breaking as I pushed the release tab. Luckily the new grill came with new retaining clips which installed in the original location with no problem.
Test fitting the new grill I discovered the mounts were slightly larger and required some trimming to fit, which SRQ states up front. Using my caliper to measure, the original tabs were about 10mm and tapered to about 7mm. I locked the 10mm measurement in so I could use the caliper as a guide while shaving down the new tabs, and I didn't bother tapering them. A few minutes with the Dremel and the grill was ready to be installed. Finishing the install was as easy as lining up all the mounts and making sure they clicked in.
